Office Setup Guide
Before You Order Hardware
List three numbers from your lease and facilities contact: permitted equipment noise at the suite door, breaker size on your chosen circuit, and whether 24/7 operation is allowed. Compact ASIC units from 0.05 TH/s upward are physically small but electrically continuous.
Staging Checklist
Power
- Photograph breaker label and any sub-panel stickers.
- Confirm whether your circuit is shared with kitchen, printer, or lighting loads.
- Budget 20% headroom below breaker rating for inrush when fans spin up.
Air Path
- Mark intake and exhaust paths with at least 60 cm clearance.
- Note if suite air is recirculated only—common in older Gangnam retrofits.
- Plan filter access; office dust clogs compact miners faster than datacenter floors.
Acoustics
- Measure ambient dB at desk and corridor with a phone meter app for baseline.
- Identify hours when neighbours are present; night runs may still violate lease clauses.
Physical
- Floor load is rarely an issue for desk units; wall vibration can transfer through partition studs.
- Keep spill containment if your suite has strict cleanliness clauses.
Recommended Visit Sequence
- Thermal Load Survey if HVAC is marginal or room is enclosed.
- Office ASIC Fit Review with your shortlisted models.
- Hash Rate Verification after install if you bought used or grey-market stock.
Seasonal Note for Seoul
July and August afternoon ambient routinely pushes office suites above 28 °C. Units rated at 0.1 TH/s may throttle earlier than spring benchmarks. Schedule critical measurements before mid-June or after September if possible.
